There is currently a large constraint in the global supply of hard drives as a result of the extreme flooding in Thailand. This has already fed through to the UK Channel, with little stock being available and prices rocketing for what stock there is. In light of this CMS Computers reacted quickly and have the current Zoostorm range production covered until the end of the year.

Official Announcement: PC Components Distributor VIP Computer Centre has acquired CMS Computers, a PC Assembler based in Liverpool.

CMS Computers is the UK’s largest PC systems builder to the channel, and VIP is the UK’s largest computer components trade-only distributor and has been growing their market share year on year. The CMS Computers acquisition creates synergies and opportunities for growth for both companies.

CMS Computers will be run independently by two of their current directors under the VIP Group.  Sion Roberts and Ian Fraser commented that this is an exciting opportunity for CMS allowing us to further enhance the Zoostorm brand and increase market share.  CMS will maintain its own identity and continue to trade as CMS Computers Limited.   As a result of the recent announcement CMS Computers will relocate to Warrington from the 3^rd January 2012.  Apart from the permanent closure of the Trade Counter on 5pm 20^th December 2011, CMS Computers will continue to operate as usual at their new offices in Warrington, Cheshire.  For more information contact us at: sales@cms-computers.co.uk
